Tamarraw Beach Resort, Puerto Galera

Quick comments about this resort - Tamarraw Beach Resort, Puero Galera:
1. Good value, clean
2. Big space which would tend to be dirty if people trying to same some money occupy 1 room and allow more than 5 people to stay in it
3. Food is not cheap for an average Filipino family
4. There is wifi for free but it's very slow
5. Foreigners visit this resort
6. TV present in the room - nice bathroom

This is hotel is located in the white sand beach area where more people visit during summer. Best to visit Puerto Galera around June on a nice day.

Good to bring your own car - all you have to do is go to Batangas City port and get a ferry which can take vehicles.

Cathedral Cafe, Christchuch City, New Zealand

Well the name is quite obvious. This cafe is located right next to the famous Christchurch Cathedral at the heart of the city. It's well-located. You can enjoy the 'culture' - trams, crafts, heritage buildings, street performances in nearby locations.

Price of a cup of cappuccino is $3.80 - fair price - fair taste. Keeps you awake.

Staff is not very friendly but not rude too. It's hard to strike a conversation with them as the cafe is very busy.

The cafe is next to a gift shop/bookstore as well.

The food is decent, healthier choices available in the menu.

Do I recommend this cafe strongly? Not really but it's not a bad choice. It is nicely located. However, there are so much more cafes with better atmospheres than the Cathedral Cafe - that is if you are looking for a true cafe experience.

Nandos Christchurch City, New Zealand - bad experience

Nandos Christchurch City, New Zealand - bad experience

Nandos actually looked like a nice place to eat for a change from cafes and restaurants. Even if it was a franchise, it looked decent and neat.

However, the image of a franchise doesn't signal good value in NZ. NZ franchises like Mcdonalds and KFC, and in this case, Nandos means you need to pay up to $15 for a decent sized meal - a quarter chicken and a bowl of fries - which is not very healthy.

I should say though that Nandos Chicken has quite an original taste - flame grilled and has a special original sauce as marinate. So the chicken I had was quite juicy. The servings are not the same size - mind you.

Since it's a franchise, if you make a complaint, the manager wouldn't bother, at least that's my experience n Nandos. I complained that the photo showed $8.90 for chicken and fries but actually $8.90 is just for the chicken and the fries is an extra $5.

So would I recommend this place - quick answer is No.

There are better places to eat for a $14 meal. There are healthier choices and better customer service.

Arrowtown The Postman's Residence

To summarize:
Beautiful Town, Beautiful Experience, Fantastic Fresh Food

This restaurant is considered A+++
Staff is very friendly.
Chef is good!
Servings are hefty, prices are reasonable!

I ordered Italian Lasagne for only $14 NZD.

It's a big meal that is enough for 2 meals especially for a small person like me.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere here.

Solera, Queenstown, Healthy Meal Anyone?

Chicken

This might not be filling for many but this is actually quite a good-sized meal even after an hour's walk around Queenstown's CBD.

Queenstown is famous for its many cafes and restaurant. It's important to find one that is reasonably-priced.

Solera Vino is a French Restaurant located in Queenstown's CBD. It's a very pleasant restaurant with a lovely 2nd floor area. We have visited this restaurant 2x for a casual $10 meal - salmon or chicken.

We would have coffee for $4 after.

I recommend this restaurant to those who are after a quick yet healthy sit down, pleasant lunch.
